Data over dogma.

We track the intersection of policy, economics, and your wallet.

The Mission

The Visible Hand

In an era of 24-hour news cycles and partisan spin, economic reality often gets lost in the noise. Charted Interest was founded on a simple premise: data doesn't have an agenda.

We believe complex political and economic subjects shouldn't be hidden behind academic walls or opaque government reports. By visualizing the raw numbers, from the inflation of a morning breakfast to the widening gap in housing affordability, we empower readers to cut through the noise and see the real story.

As we expand, our tools will evolve to track not just the economy, but the political decisions that shape it. We are building the dashboard for the American experience.

Michael Blickenstaff

Charted Interest is led by Michael Blickenstaff, a policy analyst and data journalist focused on the intersection of macroeconomics and daily life.

Holding a Master’s in International Public Policy from University College London (UCL) and a Bachelor’s in Political Science from the University of Southern Mississippi, Michael brings academic rigor to public discourse. He built Charted Interest to bridge the gap between high-level policy theory and "Main Street" reality, creating interactive tools that allow users to interrogate the data for themselves.
